Arthur has led his troops through many heated battles to build his personal kingdom of chain restaurants across North Wales. His right-hand man, Cai has been there through thick and thin. When the heat is really turned up in the kitchen, can their shared history save their friendship and the company?
Inspired by the early Welsh poem “Pa Gur?” (“What Man is the Gatekeeper?”), about the battle on Arthur’s Seat, Edinburgh between King Arthur’s army and the Scottish and Welsh druids, this new play by first-time playwright Chris Ingram is about power, betrayal, and what happens when the person you love the most becomes your biggest enemy.
Featuring original music and songs you will know and love, performed by The Jug Band: Andy Hickie, Hazel Sian, Natasha Borton and Tim Eastwood.
Performed script-in-hand by Anastacia Ackers and Owen Pugh
Directed by Catherine Paskell
Come and be part of making new theatre in Wrexham by local artists!
This is a script-in-hand performance of a new play in development. This means the script is at an early stage of development for the stage and you, the audience, can help us create the play by attending this performance and letting us know what you think of it. You will see this play performed script-in-hand by the actors. After the performance, there will be a short Q&A conversation, so we can find out what you thought worked and what didn’t work. Your feedback can be taken into the next stage of writing the script as we work towards making a fully realised production. We will love to know what you think, it honestly really helps us make our plays great!
Short plays written by the attendees of our Introduction to Playwriting 101 Workshop will also be performed before PA GUR (see here for information on how to book to attend this free workshop on 5 December).
