National Gallery London are taking art and creativity on the road, across the UK.
From May 2024 to May 2025, the travelling art studio programme, Art Road Trip, is visiting 18 places across the UK; working with 24 local arts organisations to create community-led arts projects. We’re hosting the Art Road Trip programme at Tŷ Pawb in Wrexham between the 15th and 26th April!

Gelli Print Workshop:
This workshop connects participants with the National Gallery Collection and their ‘Artist in Residence’ programme, using Paula Rego’s Crivelli’s Garden as inspiration. Participants will explore how artists, like Rego, draw from historical artworks and real-life surroundings to create new stories. Through discussion, Gelli printing, and collage, they will see how everyday people and places—can spark creativity, encouraging them to find inspiration in the world around them.
This workshop is:
- Suitable for young people aged 12 to 17.
- Parents/Carers will be asked to complete a permissions form via email or at drop-off.
- Messy! Please wear old clothes to this session.
Our venue is:
- Wheelchair accessible, with a Changing Places facility on site.
- Dog friendly, with well-behaved dogs on leads welcome in the market hall and food court. Service dogs are also welcome in the gallery and performance space.
- A 10 min walk from Wrexham Bus Station.
- A 15min walk from Wrexham General & Wrexham Central train stations.
Our multi-storey carpark:
- Is open 7am to 10pm Monday to Saturday
- Offers £3 all day parking
