National Gallery London are taking art and creativity on the road, across the UK.
From May 2024 to May 2025, the travelling art studio programme, Art Road Trip, is visiting 18 places across the UK; working with 24 local arts organisations to create community-led arts projects. We’re hosting the Art Road Trip programme at Tŷ Pawb in Wrexham between the 15th and 26th April!

Making Drawing tools:
Unleash your creativity in this hands-on workshop where we’ll be crafting unique drawing tools and exploring experimental mark-making techniques. Through playful activities and unconventional methods, you’ll discover how tools shape our artistic expression and identity. This is a family-friendly session designed to spark imagination, laughter, and a fresh perspective on drawing. No prior experience needed—just bring your curiosity and a willingness to experiment!
This workshop is:
- Suitable for children aged 4 to 14 attending with a responsible adult.
- Messy! Please wear old clothes to this session.
- Outdoors! Please wear non-slip shoes to this session.
- Working with real flowers, please take this into account if you have an allergies.
- Booking essential.
Finding the rooftop garden:
- If you’re parked in our multistorey carpark, you can access the rooftop garden via the gate on level 2a of the carpark.
- If you are entering via the ground floor, check in at reception and you will be shown where to go.
Our venue is:
- Wheelchair accessible, with a Changing Places facility on site.
- Dog friendly, with well-behaved dogs on leads welcome in the market hall and food court. Service dogs are also welcome in the gallery and performance space.
- A 10 min walk from Wrexham Bus Station.
- A 15min walk from Wrexham General & Wrexham Central train stations.
Our multi-storey carpark:
- Is open 7am to 10pm Monday to Saturday
- Offers £3 all day parking
- Offers electric car charging
